Car keys and fob programming in Cape Coral

We come to the vehicle. Driveway, workplace, parking lot or roadside, the cutting and programming equipment is in the van, so the car does not move.

    What we handle:

    • Replacement car keys when you still have one, which is the cheap version
    • All keys lost, where the code is pulled from the VIN
    • Transponder and chip keys cut and programmed
    • Key fobs and remotes supplied and programmed
    • Push to start and proximity keys
    • Car lockouts without damage to the door or glass

Call with the year, make, model and VIN and ask directly whether we can do that vehicle. Capability varies by shop more than by brand, and you will get a straight answer including a no.

Full detail on the automotive page, and if you want to know which vehicles are genuinely dealer only, we wrote that up in our guide to car key replacement in Fort Myers.

    Sliders, lanais and pool cages

Cape Coral is single family homes almost end to end, and nearly all of them have a slider onto a lanai or pool cage.

That factory slider latch is usually the cheapest lock on the house and the most likely to fail. The door settles on its rollers over a few years, the latch stops meeting the keeper cleanly, and eventually it does not lock at all. On a canal lot it is also the door facing the water, which is the side nobody watches.

We replace slider latches and keepers, fit keyed patio locks so it locks from both sides, add foot bolts and secondary locks, and realign doors where the latch has drifted.

If your slider needs a shove to lock, that is the warning, not the failure.

    Seasonal homes

A lot of Cape Coral sits empty for half the year, and in that time a house can see cleaners, landscapers, pool techs, contractors and a property manager.

Two things worth doing. Rekey when you come back rather than wondering who still has a key, and get the doors checked before you leave rather than discovering a failed lock in October by phone from another state.

Coming back to a house you cannot get into is a call we take every season. It is avoidable.

    Getting to you

    Cape Coral locksmith questions

Can you make a car key in Cape Coral without the original?

Usually yes. The key code is pulled from your VIN, or decoded from the lock where the manufacturer no longer holds it. It takes longer than duplicating an existing key, and it still happens at your vehicle rather than at the end of a tow to a dealership.

Can you fix a sliding door lock on a lanai or pool cage?

Yes. Slider latches, keepers, keyed patio locks, foot bolts and realignment where the door has settled. It is one of the most common residential jobs in Cape Coral.

I am a seasonal resident. Should I rekey when I get back?

It is worth it if anyone had access while you were away, which for most seasonal homes means cleaners, contractors or a property manager. Rekeying keeps the hardware and stops every old key working, so it costs less than replacing locks.
