Bonita Springs Locksmith
Bonita splits into two different jobs. Inland is newer and largely gated. West of 41 toward the beach is older, closer to salt air, and harder on hardware.
Call (239) 691-2426.
Salt air and locks
If you are near the water, your locks are corroding whether or not you can see it.
Salt air gets into the cylinder, and the symptoms arrive gradually. The key gets stiff, then it needs jiggling, then one day it turns halfway and stops. Most people treat this as a quirk for months before it becomes a lockout.
Two things worth knowing. Do not spray WD-40 into a sticking cylinder. It strips the lubricant, collects grit and salt, and turns a service into a replacement. And a lock that has started sticking can usually be serviced if you call while it is still sticking rather than after it has seized.
For exposed doors we fit hardware rated for coastal conditions, which costs more up front and lasts considerably longer near the Gulf.
Seasonal and vacation properties
A lot of Bonita empties out for the summer, and a lot of it is rented.
If your property is rented seasonally, rekeying between guests is the only way to know old keys are dead. Lockboxes and keypad entry are usually a better answer than handing out physical keys, because a code can be changed in seconds and a key cannot.
If you leave for the season, get the doors looked at before you go rather than finding out in October from another state.
Gated communities inland
The communities off Bonita Beach Road and along 41 mostly need the same things Estero does. Unit rekeys, smart locks, amenity access and association key systems.
If you are behind a gate, arrange access when you call so we are not stuck at a callbox.
What we get called for most here
Rekeys between seasonal renters, corroded and seized locks near the water, home lockouts, smart lock and keypad installation, and car keys.

Bonita Springs locksmith questions
Why do my locks keep sticking near the beach?
Salt air corrodes the inside of the cylinder. It starts as stiffness, becomes jiggling, and ends as a lock that will not turn. Do not spray WD-40 into it, because that strips the lubricant and traps grit. A sticking lock can usually be serviced. A seized one usually cannot.
Should I rekey between seasonal renters?
Yes, or better, move to keypad entry. A code can be changed between guests in seconds. A physical key can be copied at any hardware store and you will never know.
Do you fit hardware that holds up near the Gulf?
Yes. Coastal rated hardware costs more up front and lasts considerably longer on exposed doors. On a door facing the water it usually pays for itself.
